Delhi Election 2025: Atishi is fighting against former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress candidate Alka Lamba from the Kalkaji seat. She has deferred filing her nomination.
Delhi Elections: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, who was set to file her nomination for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Monday, did not go ahead. Instead, she accompanied AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to the Election Commission of India to file a complaint.
As she was scheduled to file her nomination today, Atishi prayed at the Kalkaji Temple and Giri Nagar Gurdwara. While talking to the media, she said, “Today I am going to file my nomination, and before filing my nomination, I have come to Kalkaji temple to seek blessings of Kalkaji Mai. May the blessings of Kalkaji Mai remain on AAP and the people of Kalkaji, Delhi.”
“The people of Kalkaji have given me a lot of love. I am not contesting the election of Kalkaji, but the people of Kalkaji are contesting it,” she remarked. Given the delay, the AAP is yet to announce when CM Atishi will file her nomination.
Atishi, also seeking re-election, will face former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress candidate Alka Lamba. “I have worked day and night in my constituency for five years. Kalkaji people in my family treat me like their daughter and sister. I’m not just a representative; I’m a part of their life,” she said. She took a jab at the BJP, calling it an ‘anti-poor’ party and a ‘jhuggi virodhi’ and ‘gareeb virodhi’ party.
