Bajaj staff dies by suicide, cites 45-day work pressure

Lucknow: A 42-year-old man, an area manager with Bajaj Finance, hanged himself in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. In a note, Tarun Saxena said his seniors had been coercing him for the last two months to meet targets and deduct salary. Bajaj Finance has not reacted to the allegations.
Tarun was found dead this morning by the house’s help.

He locked his wife and two children in another room. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his wife Megha and children Yatharth and Pihu.

In a five-page letter to his wife, Tarun wrote that he faced massive stress because he could not meet the targets no matter how hard he tried.

Tarun was collecting EMIs of Bajaj Finance loans from his area. He claimed that he was facing many problems in all these transactions, which were impacting his performance.

He is also worried about losing his job. He wrote that his seniors ridicule him continuously. “I am agitated about the future. I have lost my ability to think. I am going.”

He explained that the area was made to pay for the EMIs, which could not be recovered. He continued that he had raised this problem of recovery several times with his seniors, who were not willing to listen to him.

I haven’t slept for 45 days. I hardly eat. There is too much tension. Senior managers force me to meet the targets at any cost or leave the job.”

Tarun also wrote that he had paid his children’s school fees till the year-end and apologized to his family members.

You all take care of Megha, Yatharth, and Pihu. Mummy and Papa, I have never asked for anything, but I am doing so now. Please get the second floor built so my family can stay comfortably,” he said.
