CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral, in which two men are seen stopping outside the businessman’s house on a motorcycle. One of them threw a slip marked “Bambiha Gang” and then fired eight rounds at the house. The police have viewed the video. Based on the CCTV footage, it seems that Bambiha Gang members attacked the residence of a businessman staying in Rani Bagh, Delhi, with firing. They are rivals of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
There are reports that the shooter had filmed the incident and sent the video across to the US. According to police sources, the video was forwarded to Pawan Shokeen, a gangster based in the US, who, on receiving it, gave the attack order at the behest of Kaushal Chaudhary. Presently lodged in Gurugram jail, Chaudhary is on Bishnoi’s hit list. Chaudhary’s gang has been targeting businessmen in Delhi-NCR in a bid to collect funds for running the operations against Bishnoi’s associates.
The incident happened on 26 October at around 8:20 PM. The attackers left a slip mentioning the names “Kaushal Chaudhary,” “Pawan Shokeen,” and “Bambiha Gang.”
Delhi Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the attack: Bilal Ansari, 22, and Shuheb, 21, both from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. Arrests were made early on Tuesday after laying a trap by the Special Cell; Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Pranav Tayal confirmed this.
“On the intervening night of October 28 and 29, our team received information that the shooters would be present in the Kakrola area to meet their contacts,” DCP Tayal said. Police established vigil along the Kakrola drainage road near Najafgarh and soon intercepted two persons riding a motorcycle at about 2.15 AM. When asked to stop, the suspects tried to make a U-turn but lost balance.
When the police closed in on the duo, one of the suspects fired at the raiding party, who, in self-defense, fired back and injured the suspect’s leg. The injured were sent to the nearby hospital.
After their arrest, police recovered from their possession one semi-automatic pistol, one single-shot firearm, and six live cartridges, DCP Tayal confirmed.
