A Bengaluru-based businessman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room in Lucknow on Monday (January 20).
The victim, Nilesh Bhandari, had checked into a hotel room in the UP capital two days earlier with a female friend. Bhandari, originally from Rajasthan and living in Bengaluru, had checked into the hotel room two days earlier with a female friend, India Today reported.
He had checked into the Safrant Hotel in the Chinhat police station area in Lucknow with his friend. The hotel management found Bhandari in a naked state in the bathroom after his room. The hotel management informed them of the incident to police.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation has been launched into the case. According to the police, the cause of death is not yet known.
The woman managed to escape before the police arrived at the spot. According to the police, no visible signs of injury were found in the body of the deceased.
According to a report in ETV Bharat, the man was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Then, the woman left the hospital, saying she had to collect some things from the hotel, and did not return.
“On January 20, 2025, information was received from a hotel in the Kamhat area in the Chinhat police station area that a guest, who had been staying in the hotel for the last two days, was found dead. The police immediately took the body into custody, and it was sent for postmortem. There are no visible marks of injury on the body. The kin of the deceased has been informed,” a police official said.
