Bhagwant Mann attended the meeting called by Arvind Kejriwal just days after his Aam Aadmi Party faced a crushing defeat in Delhi Assembly elections, which saw the BJP secure a thumping victory by winning 48 seats.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday took a dig at the Congress and rubbished party leader Partap Singh Bajwa’s claim that some 30 Aam Aadmi Party leaders in the state were in contact with him, hinting at a possible exodus.
“Bajwa has been saying the same thing for the last three years, and he can keep saying it. He keeps saying 30-40 MLAs were shifting to Congress. I would ask Pratap Singh Bajwa to count how many MLAs they have in Delhi,” he quipped.
All 91 Punjab AAP MLAs, along with top party leaders, including Manish Sisodia, former Delhi Minister who lost his Jangpura Assembly seat to the BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah, were present at the meeting at Kapurthala House. Following the meeting, Mann said that Kejriwal and Sisodia had thanked and congratulated the AAP unit of Punjab for its contribution towards the Delhi elections.
“The AAP government in Punjab is working to build infrastructure and reduce the burden of tolls in the state. We have to fasten our work. The work undertaken by AAP in Delhi was never done in the past 75 years. Victory and defeat are part of the game,” he said.
