Bihar police nab man for liquor smuggling in prosthetic leg

In a bizarre incident that baffled the police, a physically challenged man was caught with smuggled alcohol by hiding bottles in his prosthetic leg. The shocking incident happened in the Bounsi police station area of Bihar’s Banka district.

The authorities checked the average vehicle near Guria Turn on the Hansdiha-Bhagalpur main road, close to the Jharkhand border.

Reports say the police saw a scooty with a youth who appeared nervous about seeing the police. The youth was identified as Mahesh Kumar Lal from Ishakchak in Bhagalpur district. He attempted to run away but was soon apprehended by the police.

Lal confessed that for an extended period, he smuggled liquor by utilizing his prosthetic leg as an excellent cover. He admitted carrying bottles from Jharkhand to Bhagalpur and cleverly evading the police.

Further interrogation of his scooter revealed two more bottles stashed in a hollow underneath the vehicle, making it a total of 15 bottles of liquor.

Lal has been taken into custody, and charges have been filed against him under the Prohibition Act. He’s behind bars as I write this, awaiting judicial action for this ingenious and brazen smuggling idea.
