BJP accuses ‘Do Ladke’ alliance of emboldening criminals in UP

Commenting vitriolically, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has alleged that the latest political combination between Congress’s Rahul Gandhi and the Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav has established criminals in Uttar Pradesh.

Jaisingh continues to support Trivedi’s wall graffiti, where he accused the so-called ‘do ladke’ (two boys) alliance of having increased the temerity of criminals, which, according to him, are protected by the Samajwadi Party (SP). He named two individuals connected to the SP, who are accused of rape and attempted rape, as proof of the party’s backing of criminal figures.

Praise for ‘two boys’ during polls, they watch people connected to them become criminals. The two have gotten more powerful, and so has crime, said Trivedi.

Taking the garage issue further, the BJP leader stated that the SP is actively protecting the criminals, and members belonging to the opposition INDIA bloc are helping each other protect the criminals present in their respective alliances.

In the same breath, Trivedi accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of failing to address the case of a raped and murdered doctor in a government hospital in Kolkata and threatened to transfer the case to the CBI if it is not solved by Sunday. He raised an eyebrow at the ‘silence’ of Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on such crimes, accusing the INDIA bloc parties of protecting the ‘mutual criminality’ in their cartel.

In response, NCP (SCP) MP Supriya Sule supported Mamata Banerjee’s stand and said she would act soon. She also said the family must get justice through a fast-track court.

The claims and counterclaims have underscored political rivalry in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections in India, given the BJP’s attempts to portray rivals as being inadequate on law and order and corruption fronts.
