BJP alleges Congress scam with Shah Rukh Khan lookalike in Solapur

With a scam charge against the Congress party, BJP has responded (to the Electoral Officer) through the viral circulation of a video portraying a Shah Rukh Khan lookalike campaigning for Praniti Shinde, a Congress candidate contesting in Solapur Lok Sabha constituency. The Twitter handle of @BJPs Shehzad Poonawala drew the attention of the Election Commission of India and Shah Rukh Khan and explained in detail how the action was unfairly singling out a political leader.

Poonawala called out the Congress party, saying,

“What mania can perhaps drive the party leaders to such an extreme and deceptive level?”

He went on asking if this constitutes their tactics and includes fake surveys, selling elaborate anti-India narratives, leading a highly dangerous language of activities in the cyberspace and now, possibly using a lookalike in their campaigns. On his way, Poonawala has repeatedly mentioned that Congress is adept in seeking solace in electronic voting machines (EVMs) in case of a possible defeat by means of an electoral setback.

Although some reports mentioned the twin-like as Ibrahim Qadri, a widely known else than Shah Rukh Khan, we still don’t know who it was. In conclusion, while various reports brought up various versions of the events that occurred that fateful day, some don’t seem logical or justifiable. Surprised were the filmgoers on seeing Ibrahim Qadri, who was in looks strikingly close to the Bollywood actor, perform as if he might be the same person on screen at times. Making everyone around follow his actions attentively and even imitating his dialogues showed his exceptional interpretation skills of dialogue delivery, his distinct body language, unique postures and rhythm.

The second in the name is Paniti Shinde from the Congress party and the daughter of prior Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who will be contesting in the central constituency of Solapur City in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019. The BJP has picked a seasoned MLA, Ram Satpute, who already has constituency advantage, to contest for the candidate for the constituency. It has added another layer to such political conditions, evolving discussions on the realism and morality of the electoral activities.
