BJP confident of retaining power in 2029 Lok Sabha elections

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of India, has categorically said that the BJP NDA will again be in power in the 2029 phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Thus, responding to the opposition, which has dubbed the present government as vulnerable, Shah said that people will again vote for the BJP NDA in the gradually changing political scenario.

Shah said at an up event, “Let the opposition do whatever it wants, 2029 NDA will come, Modi ji will come. They do not know that the BJP has polled more seats than the total number of seats Congress has managed to get in the last three elections.

It revealed that the BJP-led NDA government, led by Narendra Modi as prime minister, will again come into power in the 2024 eco polls, but with a lower turnout than before, say 240 for the BJP as against 303 in the previous eco polls in 2019. However, the NDA, with the support of TDP and JD (U), could successfully come to power and stake the government.

The opposition INDIA bloc formed by INC, TMC, and other regional parties was also very competitive and managed to win over 230 seats. Congress got the nicest kick and has secured 99 seats, the party’s best result in the past 15 years.

The BJP had contested 68 seats, less than the 62 that were fought in 2019, whereas its pre-poll allies, the RLD and Apna Dal (S), won two and one assembly seats, respectively, in 2024.

The saffron party and its allies had won a whopping 73 Lok Sabha seats in 2014 and 64 in 2019 in the politically sensitive and lightning-bolt-charged neighbourhood.

Nevertheless, Shah sees the coming of the NDA government in 2029 as certain, speaking of the government’s commitment to stay full term and the BJP-led alliance’s next.
