BJP Criticizes Arvind Kejriwal for Issuing Orders from Jail; Demands Resignation

BJP slams jailed Kejriwal for issuing instructions from custody, demands resignation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday slammed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for issuing executive orders from ED custody in the excise policy case. BJP leader Harsh Vardhan termed Kejriwal’s actions as displaying ‘greed and insecurity’ by not wanting to relinquish charge. Manjinder Singh Sirsa claimed a CM cannot issue directions from jail and alleged it was a ‘drama’.

Harish Khurana said Kejriwal was ‘playing victim’ despite facing corruption charges, unlike Sisodia who has not got bail for 14 months.

Kejriwal had directed smooth services at hospitals from custody, claimed minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.

ED will probe the legality of such orders, said reports, while the Delhi government secretary asserted public services remain unaffected.

Meanwhile, the BJP launched massive protests in Delhi, with state chief Virendra Sachdeva demanding Kejriwal’s resignation, calling him ‘corrupt’.

The political slugfest intensified with the main Opposition party seeking Kejriwal’s ouster over moral grounds in the high-stakes case involving two arch-rivals.
