BJP criticizes Congress over Kharge’s treatment during nomination

The Bharatiya Janata Party stirred controversy on Wednesday after it released a video showing Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge peeping through the door as party leader Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination papers for Wayanad.

BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar lashed out at the Congress for disrespecting their senior leader Kharge and asked, “Where were you, @kharge Saheb? On the day when the first family, Priyanka Vadra ji, was filing her nomination as Congress candidate for Wayanad, he was kept outside because he was not a family member.

Self-respect and dignity are sacrificed at the altar of arrogance and entitlement of the Sonia family. Just imagine how they will treat the people of Wayanad if they can treat a senior Dalit leader and party president like this.

The official BJP India X handle further amplified the message by sharing the 30-second video, saying, “The way Mallikarjun Kharge ji was kept out of the room during Priyanka Vadra’s nomination today. Similarly, after removing reservations, Rahul Gandhi will deprive the Dalit community of respect and opportunities. If the Gandhi family can insult Kharge ji like this, one can only imagine the disdain they hold for the Dalit community.”

Pictures went viral on social media of him sitting between Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi during his nomination. The Congress spokesperson is awaiting a response, and further updates will be published once received.
