BJP threatens legal action against AAP minister over poaching allegations.
The Delhi unit of BJP has threatened legal proceedings against AAP leader Atishi if she fails to substantiate claims of being approached by the saffron party. Addressing media in the national capital, BJP state chief Virendra Sachdeva said Atishi cannot make unfounded allegations and get away. He demanded details of the person who allegedly contacted her on BJP’s behalf to join ranks.
“If Atishi cannot provide any proof regarding her accusations, we will take legal action against her,” Sachdeva asserted.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari also demanded an apology and warned of pursuing the matter in court should the minister not back her statement by evening.
Earlier in the day, Atishi alleged during a press conference that a “close individual” from the BJP asked her to switch camps or face arrest by ED within a month.
“I was told to save my career and enhance prospects of joining the ruling party or be ready to be nabbed,” she claimed.
However, the saffron party has dismissed these as politically motivated attempts to tarnish its image. It has sought verifiable facts from AAP to validate poaching rumors.
As the charge-counter exchanges escalate ahead of key elections, legal remedies have been threatened to settle a score over the contentious poaching debate.
