BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said there were enough strong opposition leaders who could do justice to the position of Leader of the Opposition.
On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that constituents of the opposition INDIA bloc are exploring the idea of rotating the Leader of the opposition role in the Lok Sabha.
According to them, if the bloc feels that Rahul Gandhi is not doing a good job, it’s up to them.
BJP MP from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency Bansuri Swaraj said many capable leaders within the opposition parties could fill the shoes of Leader of Opposition (LoP).
However, she says that is up to them because the Leader of the Opposition issue is an “internal matter” for the INDIA bloc.
Oppn parties yet to respond to BJP’s claim Though opposition parties have not yet responded to the BJP’s claim, experts said only an MP from the largest opposition party with a minimum of 10 percent of seats in the house could be appointed as the LoP, PTI reported.
Gandhi was appointed Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha because the Congress was the single-largest opposition party in the house.
