BJP launches poll manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir elections

The BJP released its poll promises for upcoming assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir state on Friday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP’s state president for Jammu & Kashmir, Ravinder Raina, and other leaders were also present.

Amit Shah stated about the region, ‘Since independence, this region has been important to us. ’ He pointed to the great son of the soil like Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, saying, ‘Jammu and Kashmir has always been part of India. ’

The manifesto also vows to provide ₹18,000 per annum to the senior most woman of the family under the ‘Maa Samman Yojana’, free two cylinders per year under the ‘Ujjwala’ scheme, and ₹3000 monthly travel allowance to college-going students.

Some of the important projects are the establishment of an SEZ for Information Technology in Jammu, the development of tourist resorts at Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and the extension of credit facilities to hawkers/traders. The BJP also promises to triple the pensions of the vulnerable section of society and to increase the extent of the Ayushman Bharat Sehat Scheme.

The plan of action includes programs to restore the Kashmiri Pandits to their homes besides addressing the social integration of refugees from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, an exhibition of the commitment of the party towards social justice and a reborn economy.
