PM Modi Projects Confidence as BJP Eyes Record Poll Mandate.
As India’s marathon general election nears the halfway mark, PM Modi expressed optimism over the BJP securing a historic mandate. Noting the trust voters have placed in his government, he forecast the party setting a new benchmark.
Polling is completed in four southern states where the BJP campaigned aggressively. However, the South remains challenging for the party which drew a blank in key states in 2019. Nationally, the BJP had bagged 303 seats targeting 370+ now, or crossing 400 with allies.
Modi underscored the perception that his regime comprehends people’s struggles and respects their dreams while consistently endeavoring to enhance India’s stature. The PM, contesting from UP’s Varanadi, assessed the scales as heavily tipped in the BJP’s favor.
Having swept UP and won handsomely in theHindi belt previously, the BJP eyes another round of strong showings. The party faces a united Opposition bloc but the PM signaled confidence riding public goodwill.Counting will be conducted on June 4th for the nearly concluded marathon polls.
