
In a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday in Bihar’s Katihar district, three persons died and four went missing when a boat capsized in the Ganga River. The officials said the boat, carrying 17 passengers, capsized near Golaghat in the Amdabad area.
The rescued people, according to the police, are ten in number, and most of the people have been said to have swum ashore along the riverbank.
“The rescue operation for the four missing persons is continuing,” District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena said, adding that an inquiry had been ordered to ascertain the reason behind the mishap.
The identities of two victims have been established as Pawan Kumar, 60, and Sudhir Mandal, 70. Efforts were on to establish the identity of the third victim.
