Protests took place in front of Dibrugarh’s Lahowal Police Station by the local people, along with the victim’s family demanding that the culprit should be arrested.
According to the family members of the victim, she was missing from January 9, and the body was floating in a river from January 13. The family members claimed the woman went to her friend in Lahowal on December 9 and never returned. Her body was found four days later.
She received a call from her friend that morning and immediately left home. Interestingly, she left her mobile in the room. She came back only in the evening. We began our search for her at that time. We had even filed a missing complaint with a local police station,” said they.
