Bengaluru hotel evacuated following bomb threat.
A prominent hotel in Bengaluru’s Jalahalli area received a bomb threat via mail on Monday, prompting swift evacuation and inspection by police forces.
The threat letter arrived at Kadamba Gardenia Hotel near noon, and as a precaution, over a hundred staff members and customers were urgently moved out.
Jalahalli police and bomb squad teams promptly swung into action, cordoning off the area for investigation. A CCTV footage review was also initiated to trace the sender.
In a separate communique, an anonymous bomb threat letter was submitted at a local police station targeting the same hotel. This has put enforcement on high alert, given recent terror attacks.
All premises were thoroughly searched, but no explosive substance has been detected. The area remains secured while inquiries continue.
Bengaluru police sources said they are taking the matter seriously due to the elevated security environment post the Rameswaram cafe bombing.
Staff at the hotel expressed shock over the incident but lauded the prompt response and patron safety prioritization of enforcement bodies. Authorities seek to identify the culprit as soon as possible.
Uncertainty prevailed briefly following the evacuation, however, the authorities’ swift action averted any untoward incident at the busy commercial location. The investigations aim to end such future disruptions as well.
