Brave rescue of giant king cobra goes viral in Kerala

For its giant size and powerful venom, the king cobra has remained one of the most feared reptiles in the world. A dramatic video of a man trying to save a giant king cobra in Kerala has gone viral, collecting as many as 13 million views on social media. Arshad Ali posted a rescue mission video on Instagram that is thriving with viewers.

In the video, he is seen trying to stuff the giant king cobra into a sack while the snake tries striking back several times. Fortunately, the encounter did not end in injury—a testament to the bravery of both man and cobra, with its remarkable size and agility.

Comments are varied, but most are in awe of the rescuer’s bravery online: “I can’t believe he was so brave! “I would’ve run the other way”-of course, in amazement with the greatness of its size. One viewer asked, “How did he do that without getting bitten? ” Also, safety concerns of the rescuer included comments such as, “What if the cobra struck?

That would’ve been a whole different story! Others expressed awe and fear: “Nature is amazing yet scary,” commented one user. Some shared personal stories about their encounters with snakes: “I once saw a small snake in my garden, and for days I couldn’t sleep! It was not an isolated incident; recently, in Odisha, an 11-foot cobra entered and moved inside the home in a similar incident.

The snake’s presence raised a call for wildlife officials who came and captured it safely, releasing it into its natural habitat- a sobering reminder that respect for the boundaries of wildlife is always important.
