BSF neutralizes Pakistani intruder at Punjab border

A Pakistani intruder was gunned down by Border Security Force (BSF) troops after he had entered the international border in Punjab’s Amritsar district, according to an official statement released on Monday.

The BSF’s Public Relations Officer confirmed that formalities of law are being adhered to to hand over the body of the dead intruder to the Ramdas police station.

On 3rd March 2025 at around the early morning hours, BSF troops who were on the watch observed suspicious movement of an individual who had moved stealthily across the International Boundary (IB). The infiltrator approached the border security fence utilizing the hilly terrain and wheat fields as cover in the Village Kotrazda area.

Even after being confronted by the vigilant BSF troops, the intruder pressed on, and the troops were forced to resort to defense. The intruder moved towards the security fence, and the troops opened fire in self-defense, neutralizing him on the spot. A search of the area later revealed a mobile phone recovered from the possession of the intruder.

The BSF again asserted its eagerness to counter attempts of cross-border terror organizations to reach Indian territory, highlighting the effectiveness of its keen-eyed personnel to defeat such incursions.
