Pakistan comprises firing on the borderline in the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jammu area of which a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper was injured on Wednesday, as per the news agency, PTI.

It happened at 2:35 AM on April 10 near the Akhnoor area, to which Indian troops responded with vigor against the Pakistan Rangers. One BSF personnel got injured, but there were no reports of any casualties or injuries on the Pak side.

As per the firing, Indian forces in IB and LoC have been put on a state of heightened vigil. However, a spokesman of the concerned BSF confirmed the incident and said, “One BSF personnel got injured in the firing of Pakistani forces. ”

In particular, since the renewal of the ceasefire agreement in 2021, IT reports cases of ceasefire violations almost daily, but it rarely has material to report any breaches. But in the last year, an unpleasant incident occurred. One BSF trooper succumbed to injuries in the Pakistani firing in the Ramgarh sector, and after more than three years, no BSF personnel died in the firing from the Pakistani side.

This recent violation occurs at a time when Jammu and Kashmir is about to conduct its Assembly elections, which are due to be held for the first time in ten years. The three-phase elections will be held in the first phase on September 18, with phases preceded on September 25 and October 1.
