Building collapse in Meerut claims 10 lives, 5 injured

A terrible incident of building collapse in the Zakir Colony of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh has led to the death of 10 persons while 5 others are critically injured. This happened on Saturday at 5:15 pm. The emergency services acted promptly upon the occurrence of the incident.

District Magistrate Deepak Meena said that the building was three-storied, and it collapsed, and the operation is still going to search for the victims. The affected persons have been retrieved from Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College to be treated. Meena said that the families say that 15 people were caught under the wreckage at first. However, all 15 have been rescued, though 10 were confirmed dead while five are still admitted to hospital.

The area has been cordoned off, and cleaning up is still being conducted on-site. ”The rescue operation will continue as long as we are sure that there are no more people alive buried under the debris,” said Meena.

In another disease outbreak, eleven districts in Uttar Pradesh are struggling to contain severe flooding that has already killed 17 people. Trump has reacted to all these incidents by avouching ₹4 lakh to the families of the deceased. According to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office and media reports, relief has been extended to the victims as compensation for the lost cattle and homes destroyed, among other things.
