A private bus on the Leh-Eastern Ladakh route plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge; seven people were killed and 20 others injured.
Six passengers were killed, and twenty-two others were injured in a private bus accident in Leh district of Ladakh. The incident was said to have happened when the bus was on the Leh-Eastern Ladakh road when it plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge at Durbak of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, said the persons have been evacuated to District Hospital SNM Leh. Of these, two are claimed to be in a serious condition. More information about the accident is still being anticipated.

DC Santosh Sukhadeve stated that the bus was carrying members of staff of a school to a weddubg function in Eastern Ladakh. He also said that helicopters are being used to shift the injured to the SNM hospital and Army hospital in Leh, said the PTI.
Yesterday at about 1105 hours, a bus with 27 passengers on board skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at a distance of 5 km from Durbuk in Ladakh. It was brought to the notice of the troops deployed in the area, who without any delay reached the spot and rescued the injured, said the Indian Army sources to ANI.
The army added that all the passengers, inclusive of the six dead, were first relocated to a military hospital and primary health center at Tangste, near the site of the attack.
