The high court asked the West Bengal government why a murder case was not filed initially and an unnatural death case had been opened.
The High Court of Kolkata, in its hearing on Tuesday, ordered a CBI inquiry into the shameful gang rape that led to the murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College Hospital in Kolkata on Friday, PTI reported.
The CBI probe order has come after the high court asked the West Bengal government why a murder case was not registered in the first place and an unnatural death case was filed.
It will be relevant to record here that the high court found fault with the investigation conducted by the police and pointed out that Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the then principal of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, should have been the first person to be questioned in connection with the case.
