In every control testing with an unqualified success, as the nation demands justice for the junior doctor who was tragically raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have taken the place to lead an investigation. This is so given the fact that many people or individuals, especially from social media, reacted badly to the incident.
For the first time, the parents of the victim were in tears and narrated the horrifying night of 9th August. It has left them bereft, and they blustered, ‘Everything is over for us,’ a feeling of losing everything. During the movement across the country of doctors demanding some action and better protection from attack for doctors/ healthcare workers, the parents drew some comfort in the fact that crores of people are with us.
Concerning the government’s attachment to attaining justice, the uncertain tone is appealing that the father asked. “We will have to trust someone… The High Court has entrusted CBI in this regard; it will be done under judicial supervision,” he underscored.
The family also described that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day speech, indirectly referred to the case, asking that there should be no delay in the punishment for such ‘‘heinous acts’’ The parents said that their daughter had complained of feeling unsafe at work prior to the incident.
They maintained hope and disclosed that the CBI has committed to providing satisfactory responses through the ongoing investigation process; they reiterated that they depend on the government’s intervention for justice.
