CCTV footage shows the brazen shooting incident by members of the Bambiha Gang, a rival gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, at the house of a businessman in Delhi. In the video, two men on a motorcycle stand outside the home. After a few minutes, one of them hurls a note inside the house- “Bambiha Gang.” Then the two fired at the house, releasing eight rounds, after which the CCTV clip ends.
Authorities further said the shooter had also shot a video of the shooting and sent it to his contacts in the United States.
The shooting incident occurred on October 26 outside Rani Bagh, North West Delhi, around 8:40 PM. According to the police, the shooters, identified as one 22-year-old Bilal Ansari and one 21-year-old Shuheb, were trying to extort ₹15 crores from the businessman.
A tip-off received on the intervening night of October 28-29 suggested that the shooters would be meeting their associates in the Kakrola area. Around 2:15 AM, news agency PTI reported that police had laid a trap near the Kakrola drainage road leading towards Najafgarh.
At the time, the suspects came riding on a motorcycle. Police waved at them to stop, but the shooters tried to get away by making a U-turn, eventually losing control and falling. While the police moved in, one of the shooters pulled out a pistol and fired at the officers. The police fired back in self-defense, wounding a suspect in the leg.
Recovered from the suspects during the said operation were one semi-automatic pistol, one single-shot firearm, and six live cartridges.
