CCTV reveals terrorists firing in Kashmir attack for 7 minutes

Jammu and Kashmir Police released CCTV footage of terrorists, armed with an American-made M4 carbine assault rifle and an AK-47, opening fire in the camp, killing six non-local construction workers and a doctor.

Two terrorists who opened fire on a camp sheltering construction workers in Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on October 20, killing seven persons, have been caught on CCTV footage where they were seen carrying a US-made M4 carbine assault rifle and an AK-47.

CCTV footage released by the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday showed that the two armed terrorists spent about seven minutes at the worker’s camp in the Gagangir area in Ganderbal before fleeing the spot.

The faces of the attackers have been captured by the CCTV camera installed on the construction site. They barged into the camp, brandishing a rifle.

According to Indian Express, sources say a CCTV camera did not exist at the spot where the two terrorists first opened fire.

“CCTV captures the area where they headed next — the two can be seen entering and opening fire. They also attacked the mess before coming out and firing on more workers,” a source said.

According to preliminary reports, the militants had hurled a grenade inside a car parked in the camp as they attacked the driver.

“After recording the statements of the injured persons and a security guard who managed to escape, it came out that initially, the workers thought that some people were bursting firecrackers.

But within two-three minutes, they realized it was a terror attack,” sources quoted in the report have said.
