Aadhar holders, welcome news! UIDAI, the authority overseeing India’s national ID system, has extended the deadline to update your details for free on the MyAadhar portal.
In an announcement earlier this week, UIDAI provided additional time, until June 14th 2024, to make changes without cost. Previously, the free window was set to close this month.
This extension benefits millions of citizens, giving them a few months to ensure their details match reality. If you need to fix your address, name, or contact details, you can do so with a few simple clicks online.
However, note that the free service only applies to digital updates. Visiting an Aadhaar centre to revise your information will still require paying a ₹50 fee.
So, if you’ve meant to align your Aadhaar with your current situation but kept delaying, now is the time. Log onto myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in and get your records updated free of charge.
With daily life increasingly dependent on our 12-digit IDs, keeping personal data accurate is important. UIDAI has made the process straightforward and affordable – all thanks to this additional time provided to the people of India.
