Chief of BRS K Kavitha arrested in regarding Delhi liquor policy matter

A significant development occurred as prominent BRS leader KKavitha was summoned for additional questioning regarding Hyderabad’s controversial license scheme.

The Enforcement Directorate had consistently requested Kavitha, daughter of powerful politician and BRS chief KCR, to address accusations of her role in a sizable kickback scandal tied to the plan. However, she had disputed these demands in court while staunchly proclaiming innocence.

Last week, investigators with the Central Bureau of Investigation met with Kavitha at her residence for over seven hours to discuss her alleged involvement in the “South group”. She cooperated fully during questioning.

Yet now, the CBI has formally required a follow-up meeting on December 6th. The 46-year-old leader is having a difficult time defending against serious allegations that her party vehemently rejects.

Though considering the next lawful steps, Kavitha remains focused on community service. In 2006, she launched Telangana Jagruthi to promote regional culture. She has previously overcome political setbacks by prioritizing work for the public. How the case develops may affect the BRS as it separates from the parent organization, TRS. For now, attention remains on the former elected official as engagement with investigative processes continues.
