Chilling discovery: Four bodies found with hands tied in Meghalaya

It is a sad day that now a special investigation team, Meghalaya Police, has been constituted to investigate the recent find of four bodies in the East Jaiñtia Hills district. This horrific discovery has caused everybody around the area to be in a state of shock.

As told by the authorities, four unknown people had been found by people of the Umpleng Village in the forest situate at behind a village market on Saturday morning. The area comes under the operational control of the Umpleng Anti-Dacoity Camp of the Meghalaya Police.

SP of East Jaiñtia Hills Giri Prasad M said that when the officers and staff reached the spot, the bodies were lying in a pool of blood with their hands tied with rope around their necks and had multiple cut injuries that indicated that the poor men had been killed.

Speaking to the media, SP Kapali said, “ One of the four deceased persons has been confirmed to be Ravi Rai (23), a Pastha Elam, Nepal.”

Regarding the severity of the situation and the measures taken, the district police chief reiterated that a case has been reported and there is an SIT for the proper conduct of a case.

Because when the Mobile forensic crime scene unit, Independent witnesses, and Magistrate arrived at the spot, an inquest was made, and other procedures like collection of proof and such formalities were carried out at the place, summed up the SP. The bodies have been taken to Civil Hospital Khliehriat for autopsy to be conducted as well.

During the investigation, the local police force will not spare any effort in examining the circumstances surrounding this heinous case and will work to apprehend all the culprits behind it.
