Co-owner of Rajkot TRP gaming zone confirmed dead in fire tragedy

Fire at a gaming zone in Rajkot claims owner among victims.

DNA samples from a Rajkot fire tragedy have revealed the identity of one of the suspected deceased as co-owner of the gaming zone Prakash Chand Hiran. Six samples matched with those reported missing after the deadly May 25 blaze.

Earlier, Hiran’s family from Vadodara had filed a missing complaint as the police named him among six partners facing culpable homicide charges regarding the fire.

Forensic examination confirmed 25 out of 27 recovered DNA samples and remains. Police stated the identities of six victims, including Hiran, all from Rajkot.

District Collector had then obtained a DNA sample of Hiran’s mother for matching after his brother reported him untraceable.

The fire at an indoor gaming facility in JPS Party Lawns and adjacent plots had killed 28 as per FIR, with one body listed as ‘unidentified remains.’

Police arrested four owners, including one who ran the plot where the makeshift tin shed gaming zone was set up. Measuring 50mX60m with the ground and first floor, the structure was as tall as a three-story building but lacked safety compliance.

As investigations into the tragic blaze continue, Hiran’s involvement has come to light, with authorities providing closure to another grieving family.
