Colleagues allegedly murder man over workplace insults

The police said that a 25-year-old man was allegedly killed by his coworkers in a shocking incident arising from repeated workplace insults.

The police said on Tuesday night, they received a call over a foul smell coming from a locked room in the Rampura area. Upon reaching there, the police found a decomposed body which was identified as Golu, following which a case was registered immediately, and an investigation was initiated.

The probe revealed that Golu had prepared many social media reels on a social media account along with one of the accused, a 30-year-old identified as Ranjeet. Investigations into Ranjeet’s social media accounts led police to important clues which allowed raids at a number of places and culminated in the arrest of Ranjeet and another suspect, 23-year-old Neeraj Verma, both from Rampura.

The police said Golu had worked with the accused in a tent house and later in a footwear factory, where he often humiliated them, both verbally and physically. Tensions flared when Golu physically assaulted one of the accused, leading to heightened resentment.

In a premeditated act of revenge, Ranjeet and Neeraj lured Golu to a secluded site and allegedly killed him with a wooden stick. The police investigation is still in process, as the deeper reasons for this horrific incident are being dug out.
