Congress claims melas offered crores to join Ajit Pawar’s Nc

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, and the counting for all 288 constituencies will be held on November 23.

On Saturday, Congress alleged that crores of rupees had been offered to two MLAs to join the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party.

There are reports that two MLAs have been quoted crores of rupees to shift allegiance to Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction. This will fall under the anti-defection law.

Why did CM, who is in charge of the home department, not utter a single word? CM is responsible for telling the people what has happened,” PTI quoted Congress’ Maharashtra in charge Ramesh Chen Ithala.

He said giving and taking bribes is a crime in itself. The Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP has thus far kept mum on this controversy.

This is on a day the grand old party announced 23 candidates in its second list. Vasant Purke, who lost the 2019 polls, has been fielded again from Ralegaon (Yavatmal), while Shivajirao Moghe, who lost in 2019, has made way for his son Jitendra from the Arni seat (Yavatmal).

On Thursday, Congress announced its first list of 48 candidates for the Maharashtra polls.

PCC chief Nana Patole is running from Sakoli, former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan is running in Karad South, and Leader of Opposition in the outgoing Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar will run from Brahmapuri.
