The real wave of change has started in the country, a senior Congress leader Mukul Wasnik said on Wednesday while confident that the Congress will win more than 10 seats of Lok Sabha in Gujarat.
Speaking to the reporters during the party meeting in Ahmedabad, Wasnik said there is visible anti-incumbency by the people against the ruling government. He is hopeful that it would reflect in the Congress’s outcome in the state.
It is easy to identify that change has become the new normal where one can look at change sweeping across the world. We have been insisting that we would secure over 10 seats with the support of the public. This can be expected; hence, getting such a result will not be surprising. The minister continued: “There is a wave of change in the entire country”
The Congress contested 23 out of the 26 seats in Gujarat; however, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was part of the opposition INDIA alliance, but it contested only two seats. The voting will take place on June 4th, and the results will be announced shortly after.
Wasnik, a Rajya Sabha member said, the common man was quite disappointed and angry, as described how people were misguided for the last 10 years. He says this sentiment will be taken to the polls in today’s elections.
‘’When the votes are tallying, there will be a change, and this Bharatiya Janata Party shall defeat us,’’ said the Congress Leader.
Gujarat has always been a BJP state in terms of its political strength. However, this election season, both Congress and AAP stepped up their game to check the ruling party’s dominance in the state. The verdict of the Lok Sabha election will be observed keenly, as it may decide the future of the assembly elections that are likely to be held later this year.
