Even the colour of the copy of the Constitution that Rahul Gandhi carried became an issue, with Devendra Fadnavis saying it was evidence of “an affinity for urban Naxals and anarchists.”
The BJP accused the Congress party of distributing “blank copies of the Constitution” at a Rahul Gandhi-led programme in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, ironically, to protect and safeguard the Constitution.
A video shared by Maharashtra BJP on social media went viral quickly. It showed the books with the ‘Constitution of India’ written on the front but only blank pages inside, except for the preamble on the first page.

However, the Congress hit back at the BJP and accused it of spreading a fake narrative. According to the clarification issued by Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar, a notebook and a pen were given to all those who had attended the event.
With the high-stakes Maharashtra assembly election round the corner, the ruling BJP seized on the issue to attack Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, describing the party and its leader as anti-reservation and anti-Constitution.
“Congress wants to wipe out the Constitution of India thus. All laws scripted by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar are to be deleted. That is why Rahul Gandhi had said that reservation would be abolished in the interim,” Maharashtra BJP tweeted.
Remember, respected Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and his constitution are not an election issue but the foundation of India and Indians’ lives. So, people will teach a lesson to the anti-constitutional Congress.
The colour of the Constitution copy Rahul Gandhi carried also became a point of contention. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attacked Gandhi for holding a “red book,” saying it showed an affinity for “urban Naxals and anarchists.”
