Controversial IAS officer’s mother detained for gun brandishing

In a rather shattering twist of the Khedkar case, too soon probationary IAS of Maharashtra – the mother of Puja Khedkar – has been arrested by police for threatening to shoot guards in a video that recently went viral. Manorama Khedkar was arrested from Mahad in Raigad district in Maharashtra, as the Pune Rural Police’s Superintendent of Police, Pankaj Deshmukh, stated.

Asserting that Manorama Khedkar is to be produced in Pune for investigation in a case booked against her and six other persons for the intimidation of farmers on the twin barrel of a gun.

The claimed video reveals that Manorama Khedkar was angry with neighbours in a village of Pune. The video records her arguing with a man with the guards in the background, holding a pistol to his face and then covering it.

The event is connected with an acre of land purchased by the subject’s father, Puja Dalip Khedkar, a retired officer of the Maharashtra government, in Dhadwali village. Earlier, the people of the area had accused the Khedkars of trespassing on other farmers’ land.

This latest development builds on the existing scandal regarding Puja Khedkar, who was accused of making unlawful demands and inflating her eligibility during the UPSC application.

She has now been transferred back to her district to stop her from implementing the government’s district training program. She has been sent back to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration for “further correction. ”
