Curfew imposed in Odisha’s Balasore after Bakrid clash

Desta Palmer brought some light tension in Balasore, Odisha, on Monday, following which curfew was imposed and internet services were restored in the many sensitive regions.

”The mobile phone connectivity has been suspended all over Balasore municipality area, and all the business establishments and shops have been ordered to remain closed,” news agency PTI quoted Balasore superintendent of police Sagarika Nath as stating.

This was also reported by the police that “No person shall public space, private streets or roads; Everyone shall remain at their homes or residential units; No person shall exit their homes or use vehicles or engage in walking or cycling or any form of travel; except for seeking emergency medical assistance.”

Balasore session was sharply represented by Janaki Balla, and the burning issue was immediately taken up by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who immediately contacted Balasore Collector Ashish Thakare and encouraged him to take strong measures to contain the situation.

Also, more people started coming to use violence. Therefore, Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar reached the town, and the police force organized a flag march to contain the situation.

A police officer took the officer to the scene, saying that the police had made enough preparations and was subduing the crowd steadily.
