Deadly collision on Lucknow-Agra expressway kills 18, injures 19

The Lucknow-Agra Expressway turned out to be fatal again when a private bus crossed with a milk tanker and costing 18 lives and injuring another 19 people.

The incident occurred around 5:Samajwadi five timing 15 am when the double-decker bus traveling from Bihar Sitamarhi to Delhi hit the militant from behind the milk tanker. The severity of the impact in this crash was immense, and several passengers were ejected from the vehicle, thus contributing to the many fatalities.

“Today at around 5:15 am, a private bus coming from Motihari Bihar met with a milk tanker, thirty-five people died, and nineteen were injured in the sad incident, as informed by the D. M Unnao Gaurang Rathi.

The deceased comprised one female, three males, and one child. The affected people have been ferried to the nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Terming the incident as very unfortunate and tragic, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to give the injured the best medical attention. Also, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has extended an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50 thousand to each injured victim from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

Even President Droupadi Murmu has also come forward and expressed her grief by saying that The news of the death of many people, particularly in a road accident on Lucknow Agra Expressway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, is unfortunate. I convey my deep condolences to the family members of the people who have become the victims of such sudden unnatural death and pray for the early recovery of the injured persons.

The sad event has now brought into focus the risks and the lack of styles that still dominate the country’s highways as the nation mourns the loss of lives in such events.
