Deadly Mumbai crash: Sena Leader’s son flees after killing woman

It is a tragic story in which a speeding BMW car owned by a 24-year-old boy who is the son of a senior Shiv Sena leader has knocked down a woman in the Worli locality of Mumbai. The police have disclosed that the accused, Mihir Shah, is presently at large, and the probable reason behind the occurrence was that he was under the effect of alcohol.

From the version of the authorities, the BMW was owned by Mihir, and his father’s driver was with the young man at the time of the fatal crash. The couple was identified as Kaveri Nakva, a woman, and her husband Pradik, who were in a fish-selling business in the Koliwada locality.

The oncoming speeding BMW rammed into their scooter, and they were pitched onto the car’s bonnet. Kaveri was run over by the train and she died due to the injuries she suffered, on the other hand Pradik had minor injuries.

It is said that immediately after the incident, Mihir informed his father, Rajesh Shah, the deputy Shiv Sena leader in Palghar. Unfortunately, his phone has been off; the police have surrounded him now and are looking for him. Rajesh and the driver were arrested as they were asserted not cooperating with police inquiries.

The case has been registered under the new criminal code, and attempts to tamper with the evidence have also been noted; for instance, the number plate was removed, and a Shiv Sena sticker was scratched on the car’s windshield. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed the event as unfortunate and confirmed that appropriate measures will be taken.
