Delhi Airport Roof collapse: AAP Slams BJP over Infrastructure woes

The AAP has slammed the Modi-led NDA government for fallen structures, including terminal 1 of Delhi’s IGIA during heavy rain.

The event, which resulted in one person’s death and injured eight others, woke up echoing serious allegations against the AAP, labeling the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as corrupt.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh unleashed insulting remarks on the government by quoting different falling projects across the country, coupled with an allegation of seepage in the newly constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

The PIA union leader blamed the mishap – the Delhi Airport Terminal 1 roof collapse – on corruption, saying, ‘Corruption follows the BJP’, having informed that the terminal was inaugurated by PM Modi on March 10, 2021.

The party also referred to the so-called cracks in Atal Setu Bridge in Mumbai, the feeling of the Jabalpur terminal as well as the Bundelkhand Expressway, and the roof collapse of the Delhi Airport Terminal 1, accusing the BJP-led government of poor maintenance of infrastructure.

Due to continuous rainfall, the areas of the national capital have been badly affected by waterlogging. Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi said all the departments and officers are working to tackle the problems.

In June 2020, the IMD operated from Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi, which recorded a rainfall of 228mm. It possibly could be the highest in June since 1936.

Fingers are pointed at the government, how it has inadequately managed the infrastructure issues, and the AAP’s role of pressuring the ruling party on the alleged corruption and negligence.
