LG seeks tabling of pending CAG reports in the Delhi Assembly.
The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena has written to the Assembly Speaker urging the presentation of all pending CAG reports.
In an August 9 letter, the LG stated the AAP government is deliberately withholding 11 such reports including one on state finances received in June.
The reports pertain to sectors like pollution, liquor regulation, PSUs, social services, and a children’s audit for crucial scrutiny.
Pointing to democratic accountability norms, the LG said not placing the audit is undermining transparency. Dereliction of constitutional duties was alleged.
Earlier too the LG had flagged delays to the CM regarding tabling the reports mandated by law.
Pending ones were on power distribution, Jal Board performance, and a key liquor supply report sent in March relevant to the excise policy case.
Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav said the discussions will expose the AAP government’s corruption and fund misuse.
The administration is yet to respond even as the LG office maintains multiple reports were deliberately kept pending for years. Timely audits are crucial for corrective actions but the pending compliance continues to raise questions.
