Dhirendra Shastri advocates ban on non-Hindu shops at Mahakumbh

Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Shastri said Akhara Parishad wants a ban on the entry of non-Hindus during Mahakumbh due to the disrespect shown towards Hindu traditions and incidents of spitting.

The Peethadhishwar of Bageshwar Dham has wholeheartedly backed the demand of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad to ban entry and allocation of shops to non-Hindus in the upcoming Mahakumbh to be organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Shastri said, “The minorities should not get entry or run shops at the Mahakumbh,” thereby giving his complete backing to a stand taken by Akhara, particularly with regard to the Muslim community.

“Akhada Parishad’s demand is right. Shops should not be provided to non-Hindus in the Maha Kumbh. Besides this, even their entry should also be banned. Why should those who do not believe in Ram or Sanatan Dharma come towards Triveni Sangam?” questioned Shastri.

He quoted a Bollywood song to drive home the point: “Mere engine mein tumhara kya kaam hai,” meaning non-believers have no role in the Mahakumbh.

He further pointed at the past incidents regarding the so-called “spitting incidents” and said that those who didn’t know the Sanatan tradition shouldn’t be seen in the Mahakumbh, hinting at a possible conspiracy by some elements.
