Doval raises terror finance and khalistan issues at Raisina dialogue

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has raised serious issues of terror finance, counterterrorism, and the Khalistan issue while speaking with the Five Eyes partnership in discussions, according to senior intelligence sources on Tuesday. This conversation was held in a side meeting during the Raisina Dialogue, where 25 countries’ intelligence leaders met in India.

Reports state that these talks are a part of a wider context to augment counterterrorism policies and enhance the sharing of intelligence between allied nations. Significantly, this is the first time pro-Khalistan forces from foreign soil have been specifically mentioned.

The Five Eyes pact includes principal partners in intelligence: the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, and New Zealand intelligence chief Andrew Hampton are among participants at the Raisina Dialogue summit.

In this critical event, NSA Doval led a special conference for international intelligence chiefs, featuring participation from representatives of the Five Eyes. The summit was to further enhance cooperation against terrorist operations and uproot funding networks connected to Pakistan’s ISI. A special emphasis was also accorded to countering the activities of Khalistani separatists, particularly considering the large Sikh diaspora in nations such as Canada and the UK.

Apart from these urgent issues, the meeting also discussed more general issues of immigration policies, illustrating the complexity of international security problems.
