Eight stores were destroyed when a large fire destroyed a Thane market in Maharashtra.

A fire erupted at a scrap collection facility complex in Thane, Maharashtra, shortly after midnight on Wednesday. At least eight shops and a storage building were destroyed.

Moreover, as reported by officials, a huge fire enveloped a market in Thane, Maharashtra, on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Eight shops and a storage building suffered severe damage in the blaze.

Police officials stated that the fire started at a scrap collection facility in Valpada, Dapoda road in Bhiwandi town of Thane. Subsequently, the fire also caused extensive harm to eight shops.

As per officials, no reports of any casualties were received. Further details are awaited.

Upon receiving news of the incident, at least two fire trucks were promptly dispatched to the location, attempting to subdue the flames. However, cooling operations were hampered by insufficient water tankers.

In October 2023, a massive fire occurred at a chemical storage facility in Bhiwandi Rahnal village in Thane district.
