The ECI Commission of India (ECI) has rejected seven polling stations side by side in phase 2 at the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency. In order to adhere to the rule of law, fresh elections will take place on the 30th of April.
This, however, comes after previously witnessed disruptive cases and disruptions during the elections in most cases. Violence was repeated at over 10 poll stands, and they needed re-election on eleven stations.
At the end of the day, the ballots in question were filled with the votes of unidentified people. These unidentified people damaged the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) before the completion of votes, delaying the message in favour of the BJP.
These unintended technical issues, alongside inconsiderate messes, haunted all other stations. As a consequence, all voting done at the polling stations was outlawed, made illegal, and void. The polling stations aftetd lie in the Ukhrul assembly segment. Four are in Ukhrul, one in the Chingai assembly seat, and one in Karong in Senapati.
The emotive scenario, which has devastated Manipur since the month of May last year between the Meiteis and Kuki groups justifying all the deaths and millions of people displacements, is in progress.
Some of the civil society organizations and groups from the Kuki-Zomi have called for a boycott of the Indian parliament or Lok Sabha elections by taking a stand against their position.
The elections for Lok Sabha 2024 will be conducted in the format of Seven Phases. Phase I was held for 102 seats in the 21 states during first which was succeeded by phase II with 89 seats across 13 states of which are Outer Manipur.
The final process will be conducted on (18th provisionally) May 7, while the counting of votes and announcement of results will happen by (29th provisionally) June 4, 2024.
