Election Commission reschedules counting for Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has made final arrangements to view the vote counting in the assembly constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Instead of June 4, the due date was changed to June 2 to ensure that both states’ Legislative Assemblies end at the same term.

As we received news from a press note from the Election Commission dated March 16 (16/03) this year, the polling day in the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim has been decided to be April 19 (19/04). The original plan was to schedule the headcount for the 4th of June, but it has been rescheduled to the 2nd of June.

Shri Sanjiv Kumar Prasad said

the ECI issued this order as it was fully empowered by Article 324, read along with Article 172(1) of the Indian Constitution and Section 15 of the Representatives of People’s Act, 1951.

Arunachal Pradesh, which will be part of Lok Sabha elections and assembly polls, is on the 19th of April. The writ for the election shall be fulfilled on March 20th, and by March 27th, candidates can file their nominal papers. The papers of the parties who want to be nominated will be checked on 28 March, and the last day to withdraw names is 30 March.

Besides Sikkim, the constituency of the Lok Sabha and the assembly will be slated for April 19. The country’s government always has one representative seat in the House of the People, consisting of 32 members in the state’s assembly. The election notification to be released on March 20, and the nomination process to go on until March 27 is the plan; i.e. the teachers will lead the nomination process. This scrutiny of nomination will be on 28th March, while the day till which we can withdraw the nominations is 30th March.

SKM party will find itself on the opposite pole from SDF, BJP and other parties in the battle for the frontline of the stage. In the previous elections, the SKM party won and passed power from the SDF, which has been in rule for 25 years. Under the heading, BJP and SKM haven’t finished their coalitions for the upcoming elections.

This way of counting time in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim has consequently solved the confusion that existed between these states. Thus, they are now ready for an important electoral contest. Get the latest updates about the parliament and state elections in these places.
