A shocking incident was witnessed in Agar Malwa in Madhya Pradesh, where a mob assaulted the son of a former MLA. The video of the incident is doing the rounds on social media and has sparked outrage and disbelief.
Deepak Malviya, son of former MLA Ramlal Malviya from Ghatiya Assembly constituency, was involved in a public fight at the cantonment crossing in Agar Malwa. Per reports, Malviya’s car blocked the road, and he got into a tussle with others. Witnesses claim that Malviya, apparently drunk, was aggressive and rude, which worsened the situation.
The scuffle soon turned ugly, and a crowd gathered and began to beat up Malviya and his friend. The violence caused heavy traffic congestion at the busy intersection.
When information about the incident reached the police, they rushed to the spot and rescued Malviya from the mob, taking him to the police station. Today, he is behind bars under road obstruction charges for parking his car in the middle of the road.
Eyewitnesses describe that Malviya’s car carried the nameplate of an MLA, which remains unverified if it relates to his father’s erstwhile position. This incident highlights public behavior and the scope for privilege misuse.
