Fact check: Here’s the real story behind actor Allu Arjun’s viral Support of a political party

New Delhi: The video of the actor Allu Arjun suggesting that voters should support the Congress party is now being shared on various social media platforms. Arjun of Allu, in the video,is dressed in a white bandhgala with a tricolor scarf asymmetrically tied around the neck, and he is waving to fans.

The title of the video itself is not properly worded, but the video is genuine. However, the caption ‘Jay Congress Vijay Congress’ is wrong. This video paved the way for deepfake videos that support an election candidate after Aamir Khan and Ranveer Singh were the targets of such hoaxes ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Allu Arjun had a sway on the election results thanks to his endorsement of the Congress.

This video is only now being published; however, it was originally released back in 2021 when Allu Arjun took part in the India Day Parade in New York, representing the dominant theme of India’s 75 years of independence. This affair amplifies the situation of similarly affected people who could fall victim to fake videos and misinformation during that period.

Surprisingly, Ranveer Singh becomes a victim of a deep-fake cloning video.

As of late, some politicians have emerged who have been shown faking their speeches or holding public meetings. Recently, even Ranveer Singh, a famous Bollywood actor, became a victim of the same when edited videos showing him endorsing a political party were found. His response read on the X platform, “Save yourself from deepfakes, my friends.”

A movie actor, Aamir Khan, also got into the middle of a messy situation when a 27-second video went viral. The video had enacted a scene that looked like a previous episode of the Satyamev Jayate program, where Aamir Khan was the host. The theft issue was escalated by the complaint of Aamir’s house manager, and an FIR was filed at the Khar police station.
