Four dead, nine injured in bus-truck collision in UP’s Mau.
Four people lost their lives while nine others sustained injuries after a bus collided with a stationary truck in Uttar Pradesh‘s Mau district on Monday. As per police officials, the accident occurred near Mussepur village on Purvanchal Expressway. The bus, carrying 25 passengers from Ayodhya to Bihar’s Vikramganj, rammed into the truck parked by the roadside.
The injured victims were rushed to district hospitals in Mau and Ghazipur for treatment. ASP Balwant Chaudhary stated the injured persons were admitted and undergoing care.
However, four persons succumbed to their injuries in the accident. The deceased are yet to be identified, said police.
A preliminary investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. Safety measures and road infrastructure on new expressways have been scrutinized after such tragic incidents.
Police and district administration are ensuring best medical assistance is provided to the injured victims. Authorities have also initiated processes to inform relatives of casualties.
Stricter enforcement of traffic rules is the need of the hour to prevent the loss of lives on Indian roads. Condolences poured in for the bereaved families.
