FIR against Samajwadi Party MP’s Son for alleged kidnapping

A case has been registered against Ajit Prasad, son of Samajwadi Party’s Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad, for allegedly kidnapping, threatening, and assaulting a local man. Ravi Tiwari filed the complaint at the Kotwali city police station on Saturday.

The FIR carries severe charges like kidnapping under BNS sections 140(3), causing hurt voluntarily under 115(2), rioting armed with a deadly weapon under 191(3), and criminal intimidation through threats of death under 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code.

The police said the attack occurred on Saturday afternoon near the main branch intersection of the State Bank of India in Faizabad City following a dispute over commission related to the sale and purchase of land. Tiwari accused Ajit Prasad of calling five to six accomplices and beating him up, threatening him, and then kidnapping him.

Ajit Prasad, also known for his property dealings, will likely contest the Milkipur seat as a Samajwadi Party candidate in the forthcoming by-elections. This seat fell vacant after his father was elected an MP. However, the party has yet to officially announce its list of candidates for the by-elections.

Complainant Tiwari is a resident of the Paliya Risali village in the Purakalandar police station area of Ayodhya. Authorities have confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is being done on the allegations.
